Mumbai, March 27, 2026 — The Adani Group is in early-stage discussions with global tech giants Google (Alphabet) and Meta Platforms to forge strategic partnerships for its rapidly expanding data centre business, according to people familiar with the matter.
The talks are part of the conglomerate’s ambitious $100 billion push into digital and AI infrastructure over the coming decade. Adani aims to leverage its vast land bank, renewable energy assets, and existing power infrastructure to build hyperscale data centres across India to meet surging demand driven by artificial intelligence and cloud computing.
Sources indicate that Walmart-owned Flipkart is also engaged in separate talks with the Adani Group for potential data centre facilities. The discussions remain preliminary, and no final sites have been finalized yet. The group is exploring multiple locations across various Indian states for setting up these facilities.
AdaniConnex, the group’s joint venture with U.S.-based EdgeConneX, has already made significant strides in the sector. In October last year, it announced a major collaboration with Google, under which Google is investing around $15 billion to develop India’s largest AI infrastructure hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
The latest conversations with Meta and Google signal Adani’s aggressive strategy to position itself as a key infrastructure partner for Big Tech companies looking to expand their AI and cloud footprint in India. The country is witnessing a data centre boom, fueled by increasing digital consumption, government initiatives, and the rapid adoption of generative AI.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, has repeatedly emphasized the group’s commitment to building world-class digital infrastructure powered by green energy. The conglomerate plans to invest heavily in renewable-powered data centres, aligning with global hyperscalers’ sustainability goals.
While no financial terms or timelines have been disclosed, analysts believe successful partnerships could significantly accelerate Adani’s data centre capacity addition and strengthen its presence in the high-growth AI infrastructure space.
This development comes amid intense competition in India’s data centre market, with players like Reliance, Tata, and several international hyperscalers also expanding aggressively.
The Adani Group declined to comment on the ongoing talks.
