MUMBAI, April 24, 2026 — Reliance Enterprise Intelligence Limited (REIL), the ambitious artificial intelligence joint venture between Reliance Industries and Meta, has officially appointed industry veteran Parminder Singh as its Chief Executive Officer.
The appointment, effective immediately, marks a pivotal step in Reliance’s strategy to dominate the Indian “deeptech” and enterprise AI landscape. Singh, a former Google Managing Director and senior executive at Apple and Twitter (now X), will lead the venture in its mission to develop sovereign AI solutions tailored for Indian businesses.
A High-Stakes Partnership
REIL was established following a strategic agreement in August 2025. The ownership structure reflects Reliance’s majority control in the venture:
- Reliance Intelligence Ltd: 70% stake (approx. ₹596.6 crore investment)
- Facebook Overseas Inc. (Meta): 30% stake (approx. ₹256.6 crore investment)
The subsidiary aims to blend Meta’s Llama models and AI expertise with Jio’s massive connectivity network and Reliance’s localized AI compute infrastructure.

Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, welcomed Singh’s appointment, emphasizing the “generational opportunity” at hand.

The move coincides with a broader push by Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani, who has committed a staggering ₹10 lakh crore toward AI and digital transformation over the next seven years.
By appointing a leader with a track record of scaling digital businesses across Asia-Pacific (including a stint as Chief Commercial and Digital Officer at Mediacorp), Reliance signals its intent to move beyond simple automation toward high-level, sovereign AI infrastructure that keeps Indian data within national borders.
