HYDERABAD — In a move that cements India’s position as a global creative powerhouse, Netflix has officially launched its newest Eyeline Studios facility in Hyderabad. The state-of-the-art hub was inaugurated today, March 12, 2026, by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, marking Netflix’s second major office in India after Mumbai and its fifth global “innovation hub” for visual effects.
A New Era for Indian VFX
Spanning over 32,000 square feet in the heart of HITEC City, the facility is designed to serve as a cornerstone for Netflix’s global production infrastructure. The studio will focus on:
- High-End VFX: Producing world-class visual effects for both Indian and international Netflix originals.
- Virtual Production: Utilizing next-generation real-time rendering and “Light Dome” technology to blend physical sets with digital environments.
- Post-Production Excellence: Streamlining workflows for editing, sound design, and color grading.
The launch saw participation from high-profile figures, including Telangana IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu, Eyeline Studios CEO Jeff Shapiro, and renowned actor-producer Rana Daggubati.
Why Hyderabad?
Netflix’s decision to choose Hyderabad over other tech hubs like Bengaluru underscores the city’s rapidly growing AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics) ecosystem. The city is already home to major players like Disney, Warner Bros., and Ubisoft.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy highlighted the investment as a “stepping stone” for his Telangana Rising 2047 vision, which aims to position Hyderabad as the “South Indian Film and AVGC Superhub.”
“The arrival of Netflix’s Eyeline Studios means Hollywood has officially arrived in Hyderabad. This facility will not only create high-quality jobs but will also allow our local talent to build the worlds of global blockbusters right from home.” — A. Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister of Telangana
Strategic Integration
This expansion follows the recent merger of Scanline VFX and Eyeline Studios under the single “Eyeline” brand. By establishing a massive footprint in Hyderabad, Netflix aims to leverage India’s skilled talent pool to “self-fund” its pivot toward AI-driven filmmaking and virtual production.
The studio is expected to generate hundreds of specialized roles in animation, data analytics, and creative engineering, further boosting the local economy and the “Made in India” creative label.
