New Delhi, March 13, 2026 — As the “Czar of Indian Couture,” JJ Valaya, celebrates a landmark 35 years in the fashion industry, the House of Valaya has unveiled an expansive new line of heritage-inspired accessories. This milestone collection serves as a tribute to the brand’s enduring “Royal Nomad” DNA, blending three decades of archival excellence with modern, functional luxury.

A Legacy in Every Stitch

The 35th-anniversary accessory edit is deeply rooted in Valaya’s signature obsession with history and travel. Drawing inspiration from the grand architecture of Kapurthala and the artistic lineages of the Mughal and Ottoman empires, the collection features:

  • Sculptural Handbags: The centerpiece of the launch, these bags—including the “Jagjit” bag and structured “Che” totes—reimagine architectural motifs like the Mansard rooflines of the Kapurthala Palace.
  • Signature Embroideries: Utilizing the brand’s pioneering mixed-metal zardozi, the accessories are adorned with aged metals, silk threads, and the iconic Valaya phoenix.
  • Textile Heritage: The collection spans a luxurious range of silk scarves, Jamawar-printed shawls, and pashminas that mirror the intricate patterns of the designer’s celebrated couture collections like Muraqqa and East.
  • Modern Accents: Expanding into the “bridge-to-luxury” segment under the JJV Kapurthala label, the launch also introduces high-fashion sunglasses, embroidered hairbands, and artisanal footwear (juttis and loafers).

35 Years of the “Royal Nomad”

Since his debut in 1992, JJ Valaya has been a foundational pillar of Indian fashion. This 35-year anniversary is not just a celebration of past success but a pivot toward a holistic lifestyle brand. From the launch of the World of Valaya flagship to his recent foray into fine fragrances and home decor, the designer continues to bridge the gap between museum-quality craftsmanship and contemporary wearability.

“Our approach is about evolution, not revolution,” says Valaya. “After 35 years, the excitement remains in taking the hidden beauty of vintage elements and breathing new life into them so they feel instinctively modern for today’s global citizen.”
