Starting this summer, new Federal Reserve notes will feature Trump\u2019s signature alongside that of Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. The long-standing signature of the U.S. Treasurer \u2014 which has appeared on currency for more than 165 years \u2014 will be removed to make room for the change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Treasury described the decision as a special tribute to the nation\u2019s upcoming 250th anniversary, or Semiquincentennial, in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere is no more powerful way to recognize the historic achievements of our great country and President Donald J. Trump than U.S. dollar bills bearing his name,\u201d Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in a statement. \u201cIt is only appropriate that this historic currency be issued at the Semiquincentennial.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Production of the first bills featuring the new signatures \u2014 beginning with the $100 note \u2014 is scheduled to start in <strong>June 2026<\/strong>, with other denominations to follow in the coming months and years.
